A Lunch with Executive Director of Esperanza Shelter

On the suggestion of Healing Voices – Personal Stories’s fellow Board Member Lynette Montoya, we met for lunch yesterday with Sherry Taylor, the Executive Director of Esperanza Shelter in Santa Fe.

It was an excellent opportunity for me to learn more about the community resources here in Santa Fe in an area so important to our new film organization.  I was amazed at the range of services that the Shelter offers and was particularly impressed with the educational program they are doing with 7th graders in Santa Fe Jr. High Schools.

Sherry was enthusiastic about our new organization sharing her philosophy which is expressed so beautifully on their website: “empowers people to live violence-free lives through protection, prevention, awareness and education. ”  You can learn more about the range of services available by visiting their website.

Lynette and I look forward to keeping in touch with Sherry and exploring ways we might collaborate.
